Westhoughton councillors complaint over broken lamppost
Cllr David Wilkinson said residents in Pewfist have been left in darkness for some time after the lamppost broke weeks back. Bolton Council said it had taken action to make the street lamp safe as it was in a dangerous condition, but added the lamp was the responsibility of the housing association. He said: "I always thought that Bolton Council was slow, but here on the Pewfist, this is a street light. "It's run by Onward and has been broken for a year and to say the least, some of the excuses Onward have put forward for trying to put a broken concrete lamp standard back together, are bizarre to say the least. "I've again chased Onward, the lamp post needs digging out and a fresh one putting back, it's as simple as that."
